Reveal LINQ Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) System
We are one of the first hospitals in New Jersey to offer the Medtronic Reveal LINQ Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) System. At about one-third the size of an AAA battery, the state-of-the-art Reveal LINQ is the smallest implantable cardiac monitoring device available. Even though it's significantly smaller than other ICM's, Reveal LINQ ICM allows physicians to continuously and wirelessly monitor a patient's heart for up to three years.
The device is implanted by a surgeon during a 15-minute procedure with local anesthesia, and involves no leads or wires. Unlike other "wearable" cardiac monitors, the Reveal LINQ ICM monitors patients via Bluetooth and the patient isn't required to wear or do anything to facilitate the monitoring. This is ideal for patients who need longer term monitoring due to issues such as cardiac abnormalities and syncope (fainting episodes).
Pulse Volume Recording/Arterial Brachial Index (PVR/ABI)
PVR/ABI screens for peripheral vascular disease and maps a patient's treatment plan via a database. Use of PVR/ABI is a proactive approach to identify issues before complications occur. This is especially valuable for former smokers, diabetics, those who have slow healing wounds, and those who have or are at risk for coronary artery disease.
A non-invasive laser painlessly takes vascular measurements via sensors on an apparatus that resembles a blood pressure cuff. Monitoring via PVR/ABI is a valuable wellness tool for patients, and can ultimately prevent limb loss and complications with future surgeries by identifying and consistently monitoring peripheral vascular disease early on.
Designed for use with infants through children up to the age of 17, a Pediatric Echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart. Pediatric "Echoes" often require finite images and measurement capabilities due to the still-growing hearts of pediatric patients - many of whom are often only in their first few months of life. The Pediatric Echocardiogram looks for congenital abnormalities and examines the functionality of the heart. Following a Pediatric Echocardiogram, a Pediatric Cardiologist and any other physicians can receive high quality digital video and still images remotely, in minutes.
Better imaging capabilities means less likelihood for repeat tests and long, drawn out procedures that can be especially difficult with young patients. Tender, personalized care by technicians who specialize in dealing with pediatric patients goes even further to keep the experience positive.
