Unfortunately, the dependence upon alcohol, prescription medication, over-the-counter medications and illegal drugs is becoming increasingly common. Addictions cause serious problems for individuals and their family members.
Hackettstown Medical Center's Counseling & Addiction Center is here to help. We offer:
Adolescent Early Education Program
This is an 8-week evening program for adolescents who have experimented with mood altering substances but who do not meet criteria for substance abuse or dependence. The curriculum includes the effects of mood altering substances, the disease concept of addiction and addictive behaviors.
Adolescent Outpatient Program
This evening program is offered for adolescents who meet diagnostic criteria for chemical abuse or who are ruling out dependency. The goal of the program is to explore psychosocial interactions and behaviors leading to chemical abuse, as well as prevention of chemical dependency. Adolescents attend every Monday and Thursday.
Family Support & Recovery
Every member of the family is impacted by an alcoholic or drug user. To help the children and adults in the immediate family, the Counseling & Addiction Center offers a weekly one-and-one-half-hour support program to help families understand addiction and gain support from each other to improve their quality of life. This program is open to family, friends and individuals in recovery.
